Don't worry about what people around you may think.

God sees what is done "in secret" and He will reward you in due time (Matthew 6:18)

God always rewards hidden spirituality. He hears every private prayer; He recognizes every secret gift; He notes and richly rewards each unseen act of devotion. You will be strengthened, and the Lord will make you all that He wants you to be.

The things that are done for God's eyes are the things that matter.

So, settle into that secret place where God alone sees and knows.

Jesus has called me to be at my best,

Living for Him when at work or at play;

He knows my heart, and that I can rest -

Why should I worry what others may say?

Jesus is all the world to me,

My life, my joy, my all;

He is my strength from day to day,

Without Him I would fall.

How many of us will pause today to thank the Lord

because we have something to wear and something to eat?

Contentment comes not from great wealth

but from few wants

But He wants me to see Him in His little displays of goodness,

which He demonstrates every day in hundreds of acts of mercy and compassion

The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord (Psalm 33:5)

May God open our eyes to His many acts of goodness

so we'll never doubt His presence and His love

If anxious thoughts keep you awake, ask the Lord to quiet your heart and give you the faith to be able to relax and let Him solve the problems that disturb you.

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety (Psalm 4:8)

We advertise our credentials so others can be more sure of us;

He lets us fail so they can see that apart from God we're not much at all.

We need to recognize that "our sufficiency" is from God

Admit your failings. Don't worry over them, but confess them.

November 2011

A lot of great things in November!

A number of loads in teaching ... as they say, bring it on second semester!

I was a jetsetter in November as I went to Manila for two weekends for the Bar Exams - to support my dear friends, especially Elaine, who took the Bar Exams. The system was all new for me .. I wasn't even able to see some of my barrister friends. But I hope they know that they continue to be in my prayers.

I was a tambay at the HQ for the first Sunday.

Thereafter, I was so happy to tag along with my classmates Karla, Norliza, Jo Anne and Ate Debs as we trooped to the Manila Ocean Park.

For the last Sunday, I woke really early for the love of Elaine (hehe) and to just be there for my friends.

Good morning, world!

It was Bar Ops with Maan and Martin most of the time - for the love Elaine, hehe. It was also my first time to visit Dangwa, also known as Manila Flower Center. Believe me if I say how happy I was when I realized that Manila Flower Center is the scientific name of Dangwa, hehe.

Of course, free dinner with LA friends was really enjoyable. And it was really nice to see LA Residents, Foundation Members and Barristers ;)

The next day was a trip to whatever with Maan and Elaine. With these two, food trip galore jud! I love the panna cotta of Kiss the Cook (but I did no kiss the cook, ha!). It was also a trip in the truest sense since we took public transportation - LRT, jeep and trisikad! From Quezon City, we reached Tutuban! It was such a delight that we were able to find the way from Tutuban all the way to 168. We did not shop that much .. although, I think Maan did. And siyempre, gutom uli .. so we went to Wa Ying! Yum, Yum!

Faith

When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help. 6“Lord,” he said, “my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering.”

7Jesus said to him, “I will go and heal him.”

8The centurion replied, “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

10When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, “I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith. 11I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

13Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that very hour.(Matthew 8:5-13)

21Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”(Matthew 21:21-22)

25And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

30At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

31“You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’”

32But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” (Mark 5:25-34)

Love

⁴Love is patient, love is kind. Review, review, review ...

My preparation for the Bar Exams has become full blown. As much as possible, I try not to be absent in class since I feel that I am more of a classroom person, in which I find that I can understand topics easily when discussed in class (of course, it also depends with the lecturer).

Nevertheless, I make time for American Idol. I am such a TV person!

I was able to write this down on my gratitude journal and I share this with you, my dear readers (as if .. hehe);

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Have faith in God. I assure you that you can say to this mountain, 'May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and your command will be obeyed. All that's required is that you really believe and do not doubt in your heart. Listen to me! You can pray for anything, and if you believe it, you will have it. But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too" - Mark 11:22-25
