She could have been Britney. My sister just beat me into naming her.
Tootsie was born last September 17, 2000.
Our dear and first-ever pet Tootsie died last December 7, 2006. She died of pyometra, something to do with her matres (english ba to?). We decided not to operate her because aside from being expensive (approximately P3,000), we felt she would be too old to undergo such operation. So, we let her go.
Before I left for school that day, I told her to wait for me to get home. When I got home, she was still alive, struggling so to speak. She had difficulty in breathing as the enlargement of her matres affected her heart. I was crying when I saw her. I said to her that it's OK, she can go now. (I can't believe I am still teary-eyed).
I'm pretty sure every one will agree with me that it hurts when someone we care for has to go, even it is just a pet. Before Tootsie, I was quite hesitant to have a pet in the house because I was pretty sure that it would be a great responsibility, even if I have 4 more siblings. I felt that eventually, we would let our helper take care of our pets (good thing that our helper loves dogs ... but we still do our share). But Tootsie was indeed a right decision.
Here are 5 reasons why I love Tootsie:
1. Her somewhat-curly hair
2. Potty-trained ... unlike our other dogs, Tootsie is the only one who underwent potty training ... she doesn't pee nor poo inside our house.
3. Being behaved when we bathe her.
4. The feeling I get when I caress her.
5. Her excited bark whenever someone from the household is around the corner.
I miss Tootsie!
