I could have made a New Year's Resolution of which I would resolve to learn something new each day. But I did not. That is because I don't make New Year's Resolutions.
Anyhow, I figured out yesterday that even without making such resolution, I do learn something new each day. Why not? I am a student, a law student at that. But what could probably interest you more is that I learned something new today, outside the realm of being a student.
Bull's Eye! Yup! I learned how to play dart. I made three Bull's Eye throws in dart yesterday afternoon. Although, I couldn’t remember exactly how many throws I really made. So, I don't have any idea of my percentage. But I was quite proud of myself.
I thought I could try out for darts for our Conflict of Law (intramurals in other words). I thought, why not. I could give a shot. I tried playing dart when I was in grade school and high school. But not in a competition. Just playing for the heck of it. I figured why not. My sister placed first in high school in darts while my brother placed second in his grade level. We don't play dart at home. They just tried their luck. And so did I, wondering if it runs in the blood.
Maybe it does!
Maybe it does not! I didn't make it though. But I had fun and it was not really my intention to represent the first year students. It was just nice to feel that I can play this game and I have a knack for it. I learned how to play dart--killers or 501. We played killers. It took us some time before one was eventually held as a winner.
I learned something new today, and for that I am grateful. I learned how to play a game. I felt like a winner .. although maybe not yet at the level of how Pacquiao feels when he won his match against Morales ;)
