Kadayawan!

Kadayawan is a yearly festival thanksgiving celebrated here in my hometown, Davao City!

I used to take it for granted .. with the usual beauty tilt, street dancing, bazaar, sale, parades and float.

This time around, I appreciated it more. Maybe because I have missed it the past 2 years.

Anyway, I'm proud of this festival of festivals.

Fruits are everywhere! Almost all types of fruits can be sold at P20 a kilo. There's rambutan, mangosteen, lanzones, durian, marang .. super dami talaga! I think I ate at least a seed of durian for the last 4 days. A classmate of mine even brought rambutan to share with us just so that it wouldn't rot .. because they have so much at home.

Last Saturday, the street dancing was held. Traffic was bad. We had to walk just to get to school to attend our make-up class .. but the walk was not bad, I'm OK with walking. And besides, I am conserving energy .. just like what our President tells us.

Celebrities! They were abound! They have had concert here there and everywhere. But I didn't go out to look for them. I just stayed at home and watched them at home. I'm a fanatic .. I know! But I am just not the type who will go out and soak in the sun just to see them .. hehehe .. defensive! But it was nice that they got to come here because it means business for our city .. hehehe!

Kadayawan was fun! Truly a festival of thanksgiving!
