Last Saturday was quite a roller coaster day for me. We had our dreaded exams in Persons ... and I was not disappointed. I think it was one hard exams. I was quite cold after the exams. I wasn't able to answer correctly 2 question worth 20 points (toynk!) .. no wonder I was cold! It was quite tricky and I wasn't able to get the question up until the last 10 minutes .. hahai!
Anyhow, my afternoon was rockin' cool! I got to play badminton with my other 9 classmates plus with my mom and brother as well. It was really nice since I have long wanted to play with my mom .. and it came true .. woohoo!
See .. it was roller coaster day after all!
... a realization ... a lightbulb moment ... an analysis ... a story worth telling ... a conk in the head ... a fact appreciated ... a silver lining

Lost
I lost my watch the other day. And I feel sad. It was given to me by my mom when I started to work in 2002. I consider it my office watch, my formal watch. It was a Westar gold watch and I usually keep it in my bag when I go home because it is quite attractive to you-know-whos. But I don't think it was snatched from me unknowingly. I think the clasp gave way and it fell somewhere. I just hope and pray that the one who found it really needs that watch and that it would help him (or her) in whatever way. Anyway, just what Avril said, I have to Let Go!
Lost, one of my favorite shows, won as best in directing in a drama series in the Emmy's in its first season. House, another favorite, won as best in writing in a drama series, also in its first season. Plus, Amazing Race, won its third Emmy award as best reality TV show. I can now say that I am an award winning televiewer .. hehe!

Contradictions
Last Saturday was a day of contradictions.
I was ecstatic for I have played badminton again after months of wanting to play it. After studying in school with my classmates, we had an hour to play the game. It was fun but kulang (just like Cream Silk's shampoo lang is kulang ad .. free advertising here!) I was also happy since I saw three of my batchmates in college .. nice, isn't it?
I also felt embarrassed for Davao City that night. After the game, I proceeded to Gaisano Mall to have I merienda with my mom and brother. Around 7 pm, it was raining hard. Our Crosswind was with our dad, good thing (I'm not sure if it was really a good thing) we got a taxi. Anyway, the taxi stalled when we got to Boulevard. Yes, we had to get out of the taxi so I had to remove my socks and walked in the flood a bit just to get to the curb. My brother almost lost his Star Wars slipper. To think that Davao is the most livable city in the Philippines .. but I don't think so. I think they forgot to factor in that Davao gets flooded .. maybe not like in Marikina. But it still gets flooded!!!! Something has to be done! After school, when it rains, the taxi driver asks us where we are going to get off, where to pass and how flooded it is going to our place. Trick question! A number of streets in the downtown area gets flooded. And don't ask about our subdivision, the road sucks and the drainage system doesn't seem to work well. Last Saturday's strong rain lasted for about 2 hours before winding down. Just imagine if the rain would go on for hours!
I am not sure what to do about it. I'll try to tell Mayor Duterte and let the councilors know to stop bickering and look at what happens to Davao City when it rains .. it pours jud! I'll try but in the mean time, I'll continue my prayers!

Top 5 - Broadway
There are times when I write to my friends where I include a Top 5 list. I am not pretty sure how it started but it's fun to make these Top 5 lists. So upon suggestion of a dear friend, I'm also including a Top 5 series in my blog ...
For today, ToyNk features Top 5 Broadway plays I want to be a part of (feeling!):
1. Rent - I am not actually familiar with the story but I really like the song Seasons of Love. As long as I have a part in the song, I am ok with that.
2. Les Miserables - I could be Eponine singing On My Own (eto feeling na talaga!). But I really love this song
3. The Sound of Music- I became one of the Von Trapp children in a play during High School. I don't really have a great voice, but I guess it was my acting that proved to be a factor (super feeling na talaga!). Anyway, there are so many songs that are so fun to sing in this play that it would more of play rather than work being a part of this production.
4. Grease - I am not sure when I first watched Grease, the Movie with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. But I am sure that I really like to sing the songs (even though some can be considered cheesy). Another motivating factor is I can show off my dancing prowess (mas feeling na talaga!) in this production.
5. Annie - I like the story. And I can say that I grew up with this .. from betamax to VHS to VCD, we have a copy of this. DVD next? Anyway, Tomorrow is a really nice song but I'm not that sure if I could belt it that way it should (pa-humble effect!). But I'm pretty sure it would be fun doing the Hard Knock Life number.

On Top
How does it feel being on top?
On top of what?
If I'm on top of things, I think I would feel great since things are in control.
If I'm on top of a mountain or a building, I think I would be thrilled but nevertheless cautious looking onto what's below me and the probability of me doing a Jack and Jill (... came tumbling after).
What about on top of the class on a particular exam?
I can't deny that it feels great. I was pretty excited in going home so I could just tell my mom and dad about it. Details? You see, in one of my subjects, nobody passed in 2 sections in the first exam. After giving additional points, some of them did .. but I still got 59 after that. On the 2nd exam, I got 82.5. Only 5 people passed that exam. And I was the one who got the highest score. I was happy for myself. But you see, only 5 people passed amongst 75 students. The thing is a number of my classmates and friends were really congratulating me that I felt that they are more happy for me than I am for me. No kidding! I think it has something to do with the reputation of our teacher, passing 7 to 12 students in a class, and being able to top it. Don't get me wrong .. I'm happy and so thankful about it. But then, it doesn't end there. You see, my name was posted in the two bulletin boards in Law School, along with the others who have topped the exam. Some have even asked me if I have already started studying for the third exam, which is 2 weeks from now. I have to live up to that kind of expectation (do I hear pressure?).
Nevertheless, I can't deny that it feels great. But I always try to remember that it doesn't end there.
Do you know what also makes me feel great? Getting an e-mail from a dear friend, reading her blog and letting me know that she's doing great ;)
