Coincidence

Coincidence is a chance occurrence of events remarkable either for being simultaneous or for apparently being connected.

Do you believe in coincidence? I do, but not just because of coincidence. What I mean is that things happen for a reason, we just don't know that reason.

It was such a coincidence yesterday that 2 of my classmates, seated together inside the class, wore a pink shirt (different shades), but more or less of the same style (with a collar). I was really ecstatic and amazed with what happened. Yes, sure, it was petty but nevertheless amazing because we did not talk about it, it just happened. What a coincidence indeed! We may not know the real reason why it happened but it did. Maybe because there is something in Thursdays that made us wear pink. Maybe we were unknowingly sending message to each other. Maybe great minds think alike!
I just remembered another amazing coincidence earlier this year. Jan called me up on my mobile and then suddenly, we were cut-off because I did not have enough battery. Without any discussion, I picked up the phone and dialed her number in the office .. and she was doing the same thing. So basically, her phone did not ring and so did our phone. It was just after I dialed, without any ring, and I said 'hello' .. she was already on the other line. That was indeed an amazing coincidence! I am so glad I have that kind of connection with her!

Crash

I decided to watch Crash yesterday morning and did not regret watching it.

It is definitely not a fun movie to watch. It's one of those films that makes you think about life in general and leaves that sort of heavy lingering feeling after the film.

When I heard about this film, I wanted to watch because Sandra Bullock is part of it. Reading its review, I found out that there are a number of actors in this not really big film and in which they play major roles with not much exposures.

This film just proves that life is indeed connected. That there are things in people's lives that happen for some reason or another. We do stuff that we may not know will eventually have that ripple effect not only on us but on other people, even those we are remotely connected. There are situations in life where we have to go on. There are realities we have to face that somehow a person who has wronged us will eventually crash with our lives and vice-versa. And even though how much we try to be good in the things we do, there are mistakes, even fatal ones, which would destroy us. There are things we can control and there are those which we could not. And if we fail in those some things that we do, it turns out that it was meant for the best.
After watching the film, I realized that it had that Mystic River effect in me. And as I checked the cover, one comment was that "it was easily the strongest film after Mystic River". I could be a film critic then!
Crash is not necessarily a favorite in the sense that I would watch it over and over and memorize its lines. It is that kind of movie that I will always like for it has made a mark on the way I live, living a life crashing with other people lives everyday.

Top 5 - New Hair

I just had my hair cut over the weekend. Nothing fancy, i just had it trimmed 3 inches short, shoulder-length level. Here are the top 5 questions/statements I got:

1. Nagpagupit ka? (toynk! .. let me think about it .. hehe)
2. Oi .. inspired! (kanino? wala!)
3. In-Love! (Nah! sige na nga .. i love my life)
4. Nagmukhang mas bata (Take note .. mas bata)
5. In fairness .. bagay! (Salamat!)

Before the haircut, I had my longest hair. No regrets in cutting it short a bit. Less water, less shampoo, less effort. But it was fun while it lasted, but it was definitely more fun when I cut it. Why not? People liked it as well!

I Could Have …

I could have told my classmates that I had a feeling that the purpose of the Indeterminate Sentence Law would be asked even it was not part of the coverage

I could have encouraged my classmates to read Articles 89 to 99 more thoroughly, rather than concentrating on just four articles

I could have declined to answer a question after the test questionnaires were distributed

I could have answered my classmate when she asked me a question as I was leaving the room

I could have memorized the prescription period of special laws

I could have had helped my classmates in getting better scores

I could have gotten a better score

So many "could haves" in an hour, what more in a life time?

The truth is … there will always be "could haves" in my life. I may regret not being able to do some of them while I may also take pride being able to do some of them. I could have made other people more happy but then I could only do as much.
